Correspondence:
  • letter requesting support for 12 students from The Henry Gogarty all girls school in Arusha Tanzania. Letter from Jeff Kawzenuk, Principal of Cobourg Collegiate Institute. Jeff and Mr. Steve Truelove have been working with HIV/Aids orphans in Kilema, Tanzania. For the past 7 years, they have taken students from ENSS and other schools to Africa. Many years ago, they connected with the all girls school in Arusha and they partnered with the and over the years to provide over $20,000 in science lab equipment and laptop computers and other supplies. This year rather than take students to Africa, 12 students from the all girls school along with the head Master are coming to Canada and staying with students in Cobourg in April 2018. Each of the students is covering their own transportation costs but will have limited funds while here in Canada. Although the students will be staying in Cobourg, ENSS  students will be involved in making their stay in Canada a wonderful experience. ENSS students are fund raising for these visiting students. Will Brighton Rotary support these young students?
  • letter of request from Martha Warren, Threads Program at ENSS. She explains the Threads program with pictures etc. and is asking for support.
Presentation:
Cheque for $500 was presented to Bruce Davis for the Brian Todd Memorial Community Fund. Bruce provided a very brief history of the fund; Brian Todd a Rotarian and several other Rotarians and other community members purchased the Creekside Banquet Hall in 2002 to create the Brighton Health Services Centre. The building was sold to the Municipality in 2017. Now the Brian Todd Memorial Fund was created as a perpetual granting organization to continue the legacy and since 2008 has granted $303,915 to the community.

PHF was presented to Letitia from her former Rotary Club of St. Catharines South. A very nice letter from her old District and Club was shared and there is obviously much we don't know about Letitia.
