Stories
Murder of H Kenneth Dick
PP Daniel shared story of one of his past cases:

The murder of H Kenneth Dick

This was a case from August 1999.

A man in his '70's, a retired farmer from Renfrew was found stabbed outside of town. The investigation lead to charges against two people, including the son who hired a hit man, an ex-convict from the Picton area. Assisted by a former cell mate as driver.

PP Daniel got the case through a previous client.

In 2002 the case finished. The hit man became the crown witness and charges reduced to 2nd degree murder. The son had to report to OPP in Picton on frequent basis. After the first visit he dropped dead in the parking lot.

The accomplice took most of the wrap and went to prison and obtained parole in 2009 and now lives in Vancouver area.

We don't get a lot of murder cases in this area. They take up a lot of resources.
