Stories
District Youth Exchange Program

R Debra Murray has been in Rotary 8 years. She joined because her daughter wanted to go on exchange and found Rotary. She was with Whitby Sunrise for 6 years before moving and transferring to Trenton in 2016.

She has been on District Youth Exchange Committee for 2 years.
YOUTH EXCHANGE

There are 9 outbound students in August to 9 different countries. There are 11 inbounds this year.

Districts encourages 3 host families for students, to give them variety and change.

2 members of the District Youth Exchange Committee were former exchange students. There is a lot of paperwork to keep track of students so they have adopted / set up a Youth Exchange Administrative Hub (YEAH), a centralized digital information tool.

The most important part, and most difficult is getting host families. She shared her own experience as host mom and importance in lives of students and bringing world together.
