Announcements:
  • Next board meeting Tuesday July 20 at home of Steve and Allison - 101 Raglan St. in the garden.
  • Diners and Duffers Books. We sold another so only 1 left in inventory.
  • Looking for speakers for July.
  •  
  • We have an invitation to participate in the Ontario Building Official Association's annual golf tournament to support the Salvation Army. This invite is from Rick Jones the Chief Building Official in Brighton. Rick has been a big help to Rotary selling many Diners and Duffers books for us each year. The tournament will be Friday September 10th at Shelter Valley Pines GC. See attached form.
  • R Clay has investigated Rotary Apparel, 2nd attempt after R Craig did previously. A separate email sent out. Please respond.
  • The Rotary Club of Colborne is setting up a Shelter box tent at Victoria Square June 25 for the evening.
  • Rotary District 7070 conference June 26 on line from 9am to noon. As part of this event, Rotary Clubs encouraged to get out and do some community support in the afternoon of June 26th. The Rotary Club of Brighton will meet at 1pm June 26 along County Road 64 from the Brighton constructed wetland where there is parking to Boes Road. We will go along the road to collect garbage and debris from along the frontage of the Brighton Wetland.
 
Upcoming Rotary Events:
  • Rotary International Convention 2022 in Houston Texas June 4-8, 2022. Registration is now open.
  • D7070 Year End Celebration June 30 at 7pm.
  • Cobourg Covid Vaccination Clinic. This is an amazing operation, put together by the Cobourg Rotary Club with the assistance of 600+ volunteers. We are over-the-top impressed with the whole operation. Plan to present this successful operation at a Zoom meeting. The meeting will be Monday, June 28 at 7:00 p.m via ZOOM.  About a 30 minute presentation with a 10-15 minute Q&A to follow. If interested, to participate, contact President Joyce or Secretary Steve.

Rotary clubs must have two members take the Rotary Foundation and grants training each year in order for the club to participate fully in the grant programs. There are three modules:
 
Module 1 - The Rotary Foundation
Module 2 - Global Grants
Module 3 - District Grants

Beginning July 1, 2021 Rotary has a new 7th area of focus. This new area of focus is the Environment
 
The seven areas of focus are: Basic Education and Literacy, Economic and Community Development, Disease Prevention and Treatment, Water and Sanitation, Maternal and Child Health, Peace and Conflict Prevention / Resolution and now the Environment.
 
In July 2022 Rotaract Clubs can participate in grants programs.
