  • Possible International Service project led by the RC Sydney Sunrise, Nova Scotia. Earlier this year the RC Toronto, had supported the Martuni Maternity Hospital in Armenia which was the second project sponsored by the Sydney Club. The next phase of this project is for dental equipment for a new clinic in the NW of Armenia.  RC Sydney Sunrise would like to contact  Clubs in District 7070 in addition to RC Toronto. Very briefly, the new project involves the purchase of dental equipment for a new dental clinic in Gyumri, the capital of Shirak Marz in the northwest of the country. It replaces a smaller, outdated clinic which has only been able to provide care to the children of Gyumri. Once fully equipped, the new clinic will have the additional capacity  to treat about 4,000 additional children from the rural villages of Shirak. These children are essentially not currently being served.  There will also be a “Professional Exchange” between Canadian dentists and those of clinic designed to streamline clinic operations, further increasing capacity. This is our largest project yet, certainly meets community needs and is highly sustainable. An ”official” invite will be sent out once we choose a date, likely a Saturday in late June.
