Oh Canada was still sad, even with some accompaniment? I heard on radio from tech expert that no way to have everyone sing together on Zoom. I vote we listen and if you wish to sing, use your 'mute'.
Correspondence:
- Thank you letter from the Brighton Fare Share Food Bank for the club's recent $1,000 donation.
- Request for assistance from Faith's Orphan Fund in Zambia. We have passed on this request previously this year.
- Letter from BRING (Brighton Refugee Immigrant Needs Group) to advise that on March 11, 2020 the AlRefai Family (Housam, Dima, Naya, Talia and Celine) became Canadian Citizens. They were refugee's from Syria.
- Trenton Rotary are meeting on Zoom on Monday evenings at 7pm. If Rotarians are interested in attending (digital make up) ask Secretary and he will put you in touch.
- Reminder to all of email from District to send birthday cards to R Wilf (turns 90 May 10) to 141Dundas Street West, Suite 504, Trenton, Ontario K8V 3P6.
- John Wilson, President of the Renfrew Rotary Club has connection with MYFM Radio. They are working on some kind of program to help disadvantaged people during COVID. R Liesje volunteered to be club contact to John.

- Reach out to Rotarians not getting on line to help them connect.
- No big words were used so R Bob was able to join us.
- We are having regular Brighton Rotary Zoom meetings each Friday at 8am.
- POD#1 is responsible for May so we can reach out and try some speakers digitally
- Diners and Duffers booklets on hold. Committee going out to restaurants and golf clubs asking if they will honour coupons to March 31, 2022, an additional year. Then we will put sticker with change on books and sell when safe to do so.
- R Liesje shared what her family did for her on her recent birthday. She got a lot of flowers and her son drove from York to bring food (sushi I believe). I was not invited.
- The secretary was threatened with violence from a wet noodle if he sends this Service Wheel to R Bob.
- The Brazilian garbage picker project to provide these very poor people with water filters is with Rotary International for Global Grant. R Rogerio from Brazil has answered some initial questions from RI.
Upcoming Rotary Events:
- 2020 Rotary District Conference theme is 'Heroes and Champions' and will be held at Toronto Weston Prince Hotel October 23-25, 2019.
- Rotary District 7070 is going to the Dominican Republic March Break 2021. A service opportunity - sweat equity.
