- Adventures in Understanding - Peterborough / Kawartha Rotary initiative started in 2014 to have 20 students (ages 16-18) canoe in Trent Severn from Beavermead Park in Peterborough to Curve Lake First Nation. 6 days. Cultural exchange.
- POD’s encouraged to organize speakers and events for each month and advise President. Note first meeting each month to be set aside as Club Forum.
- District Governor Neil will visit October 13. He will be speaker, no others.
- We are looking for one more host family for new Youth Exchange student Emmy from Norway.
- Rotary Action Group Against Slavery looking for volunteers.
- Presidents meeting in Oshawa Sept 28 – Membership chair invited to attend.
- Membership Seminar – Sept 23 at Centennial Collage in Scarborough.
- Rotary Club of Toronto – project in Sri Lanka – 2 orphanages - request for support.
- 2018 RI Convention in Toronto – tool kit available for promotion.
- Board meeting following at Dave’s office – 143 Main St.
- Eve of Destruction request for support from Rotary Club of Courtice - Brighton Speedway September 30, 2017. This will be Rotary and Polio awareness project.
- Campbellford Rotary event at Wesben Sunday September 17, lunch and show 'Good Lovelies'.
- Rotary Club Central NEW - up and running.
- Request from Sears National Kids Cancer Ride (coast to coast ride Sept 6 to 23) for Brighton Rotary to provide riders lunch at 1pm on Monday September 18.
- Request for support from Victory for Animals.
- R Clay passed around duty roster for Street Dance Saturday.
